Why dont'cha give me a try?
I’m really surprised about the childhood actitud, about Doojoon topic.. he’s a humen like me, like you… - yeah, you, the person who is reading this.- I will be at the same way if a chubby man will carry me at the same way as that Ib2uty did with Doojoon… I will be very worry too…. and Doojoon I’m…
Ok a lot of posts have been pissing me off but I chose to reblog and address this one to truly get my feelings out there. I don’t really care about replies, this is just the point of view of a non-B2uty K-pop fan. Part of the deal when you are an IDOL is that you put on a show to your fans. That is what fanservice is. That is what they do at signings, press conferences and concerts. They give you a public image. They are supposed to be the people that you look up to. They know this. They have been TAUGHT how to deal with this. I guarantee you that. If I were an idol, for example, and an MC brought over an overweight girl for me to give a piggyback ride to, I would keep my pokerface on like every other time I interact with fans and do my best to carry the goddamn girl no matter how silly it is going to look and how hard it is going to be because GODDAMNIT IT’S MY JOB. Doojoon’s job is to be respectful and mature because being an idol takes maturity and strength if you’re doing it right. Even when an MC shoves an opportunity to be immature in your face like what happened here, you DON’T TAKE THAT OPPORTUNITY TO STICK OUT YOUR TONGUE AND GIGGLE ABOUT HOW FAT THIS GIRL IS AND OMG HOW WILL YOU CARRY HER. Self-restraint is part of being an idol. And honestly, all you people say how B2ST inspires you and how you look up to them as role models. Like, okay, cool but you want someone who would do THAT as a role model? Does that mean that you’ll poke fun at overweight people too because oppa did it? Or you’ll just support oppa making fun of fat people?
I’m not asking anyone to leave the fandom, that’s not the point at all. The point is that you all need to stop excusing behavior as them not being perfect and human at the same time as saying ‘oppa inspires me, he’s my role model!!!111’. If they’re just people, treat them like just people, and if they’re role models, seriously re-think your life choices and pick a new one. Someone with more integrity than a pretty 20-something year old. I like kpop as much as the next kpop fan, but I don’t want to BE or resemble these people.
Dojoons reaction was fucking disgusting, and the MC was an ass because he KNEW people were gonna react that way. The fact that he was still laughing and being immature as fuck when she had gotten right next to him just makes it even worse. Ugh, props to her for taking it well, I probably would’ve punched one of them in the face or cried. It’s such a terrible thing to do to someone on TV for everyone else to see. I’m done with b2st and it’s shitty, racist, hideous and untalented fucks for members, the only ones worth my time are hyunseung and dongwoon (even though DW doesn’t really do anything except look pretty???? lmao. it’s a good thing he doesn’t do anything I guess, he can keep his pretty mouth shut and not humiliate himself like the rest of his bandmates). DONE WITH B2ST DONE WITH KPOP CAN’T BE DEALING WITH THESE KIND OF PEOPLE. NOPE.
If this really happened I think he should publicly apologize.. I don’t give a fuck who the idol is, this is downright unacceptable.
You’d think being the goddamn leader and all, he’d at least have the fucking integrity and brains to NOT show that shit in public. Like wtf, yo. Pretty sure lots of people would react that way but no need to be rude as hell and air it out like that. Disappointed and disgusted at his actions as both a public image and person.
This is pretty much why I don’t feel bad about drifting from k-pop a bit these days. All the groups are becoming superficial whether they show it or hide it, and these so called idols don’t even have the decency to show respect in front of someone who supports them. If I were that girl, I would have felt pretty hurt to see that expression and would’ve wanted an apology. I sure as hell wouldn’t be a fan anymore, especially since this isn’t the first time things like this have happened, and won’t be the last. Sometimes I really wonder why they push so much for expanding into the rest of the world, and being known in America and other diverse countries, if they can’t maturely handle diversity and people in all shapes and colors. You don’t have to love and like everyone, but common decency would be to at least be respectful and show appreciation for someone who waits around on you to support your work and spend their time to see you and be happy about being able to meet you. This is probably the exact reason why Korean artists haven’t really gained respect as artists here yet and after seeing these things lately, I’m beginning to wonder just how much these people we respect actually disrespect us, thinking we don’t understand or will never see it. It’s sad.
This is disgusting. I remember when B2ST debuted at the same time as MBLAQ. I was a Shawol all the way but I really looked forward to B2ST becoming big. I used to take the politeness and considerate-ness of k-pop idols as a for granted thing. I just thought they all knew that it was their JOB to be respectful and show a dignified public image. Apparently not. The new groups are generally HORRENDOUS when it comes to their public image. This from B2ST, T-ara’s very public downfall (although I guess t-ara’s not really new, just BAD)… it’s the reason why I don’t keep up on the new groups. Personally I hope that Dongwoon and Hyunseung jump this sinking ship before it’s too late and their names are dragged through the mud; I liked Dongwoon from the start, I mean he almost couldn’t get into B2ST from what I remember but powered through and earned his place, just like Hyunseung. Although I formerly disliked SM’s monopoly of K-pop, I can now see why it is possible; the other companies don’t seem to discipline their idols or teach them right. SHINee wouldn’t be caught dead doing something like this, neither would EXO. Especially Super Junior wouldn’t do it. And if it happened it would be so much more subtle and probably wouldn’t be so blatantly on purpose and out of line as this was. And they’ve been put in some pretty awkward situations, I would imagine although I’m no ELF. It’s not that hard to be polite, the rest of us do it every day, so why can’t Doojoon be the same? I wouldn’t expect anything more from an MC, their job is to make you laugh no matter how or who it hurts, but Doojoon didn’t have to fucking play along like that. Besides, that girl was gorgeous no matter what anyone says about her weight, Doojoon was lucky he got to be that close to such a beautiful, smart and clever girl who could dish it right back, not the other way around!
In January I’ll be leaving for Korea for a year on volunteer work, but I wanted to set up this blog early to document the progress until then. If you’d like to follow, and are willing to bear with me, you’ll see lots of pictures and read lots of fun stuff about Korea. I am also planning to go to Sweden and France sometime after Korea so it’d be cool if you’d stay tuned even after I leave Korea! I swear this blog won’t suck! Also be forewarned that I cannot follow back from that blog, as it’s not my main.
Ask me any questions you want about my Korea trip!
